Beirut, March 15, 2024: On the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day, the Association of International Vehicle Manufacturers’ Representatives in Lebanon – AIA reminds Lebanese consumers of the need to ensure the presence of the manufacturer’s warranty with every purchase. This is very necessary to preserve consumer rights, safety, and investment, and it does not only apply to cars, but to every commodity purchased.
In this context, the association calls on the Lebanese consumer not to purchase any commodity except after verifying the source, and the existence of the manufacturer’s guarantee and after-sales guarantee through approved importers. The association also calls on the Lebanese state and the departments concerned with protecting the rights of the Lebanese consumer by implementing applicable laws, especially the Competition Law, which requires importers to provide all guarantees and after-sales guarantees as specified by the manufacturer of the product, in addition to establishing the National Competition Authority, which is the responsible body. It monitors free competition in implementation of the provisions of the Competition Law.
About the Association: The AIA includes authorized representatives of all international vehicle manufacturers in Lebanon. It has been working responsibly since 1923, with the aim of regulating the market for new vehicles and importing them into Lebanon, putting the expertise of its member companies at the service of the consumer, to ensure his protection and safety and to develop the sector.
