In 2021-2022, U.N Programs are promoting women’s participation and leadership in the workplace, marketplace and community. How much do you abide by such principles? How much you benefited and benefit other women from such policies? How much your company/workplace is ready to move towards full gender equality?
Concerning the Smallville Hotel, we abide by a full gender equality policy especially that the General Manager is a woman.
Never the gender was a constraint for any position at our workplace.
We encourage every action taken to empower women and to promote them around the globe as we totally believe that the quality of the candidate shouldn’t be related to his/ her gender but to the background, education, experience, devotion and dedication to the job.
*They say: “Where so many men fail, a woman can succeed”. Today, women entrepreneurship is a collective responsibility. Do you support tracks of activities aiming at promoting women entrepreneurs in overcoming the constraints they face and in maximizing your/ their potential contributions in their respective business and economic fields?
We believe in women capacities and multitasking capacities we are sure that she can be productive in all fields. We defend her when she faces discrimination and we try to empower her in every steps. No tolerance policy can be given in case of deviation from this policy.
*How much were women motivated to launch, grow and succeed in their own ventures by creating customized programs? Competition tracks and identifying successful role models?
We had many requests for women empowerment forums or seminars and we have always supported their cause by offering special discounts to encourage them to grow and succeed as well as promoting them online with purposeful messages.
Many of our clients are entrepreneurs and leaders in their field. We also boast famous designers exhibiting at our Super design store and have already achieved recognition around the globe. Lebanese ladies are helping their country to face the economic crisis and we are confident they can compete on an international Level.
*The percentage of female entrepreneurs and empowered ladies has increased by 114% worldwide in the last 20 years, what creative and innovative business ladies did to overcome discrimination, lack of financial support and limited access to resources?
I think women have proven that they excel and on many occasions exceed their counterpart with their “magic touch” and creative input with the ability of looking into small details. They also exhibit empathy in any work environment as they are more in touch with the emotions.
In the hospitality field you can’t succeed unless you are detail oriented as well as dynamic fast and marketing oriented. Fostering a culture of loyal employees and being innovative enough this kind of management orientation you have to design a product that matches today market demand.
*Do you think that women who can achieve the objective of effective equality can banish prejudices and social clichés? Develop an awareness of a special kind on an individual and collective levels?
Always results are proving that Ladies are equal and sometimes better than men. We just need to change the home and educational environment to support women further.
We should encourage women and show them how important is their contribution to the economy, family and education in order to banish all prejudices.
*Can empowered women become owners of their actions, developing specific leadership styles, knowing how to communicate, influence their environment, and commit themselves to innovation and female empowerment?
For sure, Ladies are already leaders starting with their small family and succeeding in leading. The only missing part is companies and teams in different fields to highlight further their innovations and achievements.
*Do you personally believe in the following pillars of empowerment: “You are what you believe, All women are created equal in their innate strength, Empowered women empower other women”?
I believe that all human being are born equal. But some of them get more support than others, better education, better life experience. Women are like men, if they get the right education and support, they can show their full potential. Women should empower each other’s to get the full support and continue to change the world.
*What you did to empower other women: told them your story? Stood up for them? Recommend women to share work opportunities? Support the existing potential in other women?
I personally like to work with ladies! I always remind them to use their “Super” powers and to think out of the box. It is really amazing when you see their achievements. We always celebrate their results!
I always show them how we can support each other’s and how life could be a better place if they just believe in themselves. It has always worked for me.
*Usually empowerment starts with a promotion of a woman’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices and right to influence social change for themselves and others, how much of this has been achieved in the west and still needs to be considered in Middle Eastern societies? Workplaces? Business spheres?
We need to work on a sustainable program to change the mentality in the west toward Women. Still some taboos are not solved in order to enhance women in some fields.
Women should be encouraged to report any action that might harm or annoy them at work and actions should be taken directly to stop the discrimination. Companies should adopt zero tolerance policy when it comes to women issues.
In my opinion, we should start encouraging ladies’ participation in the political segment and public sector to influence other segments too.
*How much women around the globe still have to boost their self-esteem and shut down negativity and encourage other women to make their aspirations a living reality?
We need to foster an education system that enables future generation to treat women instinctively equally. Media support is key as well as government support are all key to build better opportunities for women and to enable them to build their self-esteem.
Continuously update crucial laws to protect women against sexual harassment, divorce law, abuse at home, wage inequality ….
When the community will protect the Women, they will be less vulnerable to any harm at their workplace and will be totally equal to men.
